A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry. And see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul. – Goethe
Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways. – Stephen Vincent Benet
Wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving – Kahlil Gibran
Take time to come home to yourself every day. – Robin Casariean
I encourage you to take time to savor your life. Take a break. Rest your tired body. Relax your tired soul. Let go of your busy agenda and acknowledge that God is capable of running the universe without your help. Rest in His goodness, and allow the peace to permeate your soul. Make a pot of tea; prepare a bowl of soup; knead a loaf of bread; pray.

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. – Mother Teresa

Encourage is the art of abundance shared and multiplied. It is a way of living that seeks to bless every person we meet.
Encouragement is…inspiring each other to embrace life with enthusiasm, courage and love.
Encouragement is …a warm shoulder in a cold world.
Encouragement is …a cup of tea and a listening ear.
Encouragement is…being loved for who you are.

‘Comes Love’ by Peter Cincotti
Comes a rainstorm, put your rubbers on your feet
Comes a snowstorm, you can get a little heat
Comes love, nothing can be done
Comes a fire, then you know just what to do
Blow a tire, you can get another shoe
Comes love, nothing can be done
Don’t try hiding, ’cause there isn’t any use
You will start sliding, when your heart turns on the juice
Comes a headache you can lose it in a day
Comes a toothache, see your dentist right away
Comes love, nothing can be done
That’s all brother, if you ever been in love
That’s all brother, you know just what I’m speaking of
Comes a nightmare, you can always stay awake
Comes depression, you may get another break
Comes love, nothing can be done
‘His Eye is on the sparrow’ by ‘The idea of North’ band
Why should i feel discouraged
why should the shadows fall
why should my heart be lonely
and long for heaven and home
when Jesus is my portion
my constant friend is he
His eye is on the sparrow
and i know he watches over me
i sing because i’m happy
i sing because i’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
and i know he watches over me
let not your heart be troubled
His tender words i hear
and resting on his goodness
i lose my doubts and all my fears
though by his path he leadeth
though just one step i may see
His eye is on the sparrow
and i know he watches over me.
Music by Charles Hutchison Gabriel
Words by Civilla Durfee Martin
Arranged by Naomi Crellin

23/04/09 – RUMI by Bec Willis
Rumi said it best that every human feeling is a guest knocking at your door
but lessons are to learn and even if you get your fingers burned
you’re becoming more
More,
more than a moment
more than a phrase
more than the times you have
made it through the haze
more than a gesture
more than your fear
on everything you’ll ever be is here
Following your heart you sometimes feel like you are at the start
caught up in the grind
and patience is your friend
so hold its hand and take a look within
a treasury you’ll find.

article by: Adam Cresswell | The Australian ‘Wish’
February 06, 2009
‘Several years ago I told a friend I was planning a rail trip on the transcontinental Indian Pacific.
My friend, who travels regularly from Sydney to Perth, loves the train’s old-fashioned romance and the enforced time-out from the daily grind.
But three days of fine food, wine and not much else to do but stare out the windows or read a book clearly has its downsides.
She looked at me darkly for a moment before mouthing a single word: constipation. ‘
