Last week at work, one of my patient, S played a new song by Guy Sebastian - ‘Fail to Mention’ from his latest album ‘Like it like That’ on her dvd player as she shared with me the story behind this song.

it all started when her mobile phone rang with Aussie singer, Jimmy Barnes’ song ‘Red Hot’ as the ringtone. Then she showed me the 2 new cds her partner bought for her. Jimmy Barnes new ‘ The rhythm and the blues’ cd & Guy Sebastian ‘Like it like that’ cd. Two talented great Aussie singers! Two great choice of cds she has.

You can see the glow on her face as she shared about the music that she enjoyed. She said she would play these songs aloud at home and dance to the beat. groovy!

She was filled with enthusiasm to play snippets of JB’ songs on her dvd/cd player for me to hear. They are really nice songs…jazz-blues, a bit of rock. nice!

The story behind the song ‘Fail to mention’- personally i felt that it was so sweet of her partner to say that one of the songs on Guy Sebastian’s cd reminded him of her everytime he hear it and left her to figure out which was the song. i just went ‘awww…that’s so sweet’ – as she played the song  ’ fail to mention’ and asked me to listen to the lyrics closely.

part of the lyrics goes like this…

“whenever she smiles, she loves like a woman but laughs like a child. And did i fail to mention that she gets so beautiful, act like a waterfall sent from above. And did i bring attention to how she so wonderful, she could make anyone fall so in love…”

They got together 6 weeks prior to her unfortunate motor-vehicle accident, as a result she is hospitalized for 8 weeks thus far due to the multiple-trauma she suffered from. Throughout these past few months, he has been there for her, supporting her through. She said that she couldn’t be happier to having found him.

Ms S is a very optimistic person witha great sense of humor. She has a distinctive laughter and often you can hear her laughing hysterically as she chatted on the phone.
I really admire her for her perseverance and positive thinking approach to her current situation. Since her accident, she had multiple surgeries and stayed resting in bed for 6/52. She is unable to weigh bear on her feet for anothr 3 months.

Despite her current situation, she is not in despair. Instead, her face is often beaming with a wide smile and loves to crack jokes with staff. She laughs over little funny things and her laughter is no doubt contagious! No wonder the lyrics says ‘and she laughs like a child’, care-free laughters….

and this morning i saw her again…and just so happy to see her looking so bright, in her wheelchair now…still cracking jokes and making us laugh.

she taught me an important lesson, perhaps just reminded me again that Laughter is the Best Medicine. And she lives it out.

it’s been a good day at work…despite the warm weather & busyness in the morning, i have lovely patients that really made my day. A sincere thank-you from a patient, a smile and a wave in return…

and now i’m enjoying the songs of ‘Like it like that’ album, I reckon it’s one of the Best albums from Guy (worth-listening – very good vocal & melodies)

Another beautiful song i enjoy listening to would be – ‘Perfection’ last song of the album.

when i heard that Michael Bublé released his latest album recently, i was thrilled!

Came home from work this afternoon to find my usb stuck to my door with a sticky note, wrote ’surprise inside’.  Surprise was a folder with all the songs from MB latest album. I was so excited to check out the songs. been playing the songs repeatedly since then. Must really thank housemate Janice for downloading the album and sharing them! =)

Naturally 7, a group of seven musicians who practice something they call “Vocal Play”. It’s hard to describe their act other than saying each of them used their voices in unison to recreate a different musical instrument from drums to brass instruments to guitars.

“I started this record knowing I was going to record it differently than my previous ones. I dug way deeper and was more introspective on this one. Basically, I sang the truth – made each song autobiographical – and you can definitely hear the difference. I went back to the way my idols made their records. I wanted an organic feel – so people could feel like they were in the studio with me. The musicians and I all sat in the room, recorded it right from the floor and we let the sounds all come together and bleed into one another. It’s not contrived. Not too perfect. It just feels really good,” commented Bublé on the recording process for “Crazy Love.

Singer and songwriter Michael Bublé has sold over 22 million CDs worldwide. His previous CD, the Grammy winning “Call Me Irresponsible” (2007) was a number one album in over 15 countries. His 2005 CD “It’s Time” holds the record as the longest running title to remain on the Billboard Traditional Jazz charts – a full two years. It sat in the Number One position for over 80 weeks. He has had two Number One singles, “Everything” and “Home” which was also a Number One hit for Blake Shelton on the Country charts.

housemates and i decided to hit the road…to south east of SA…from Adelaide to Naracoorte, Mt Gambier, Port MacDonnell, Robe, & Kingston and back to Adelaide.

hours driving on the freeways, highways, country roads…at 110km/hr. Cruising drive….occasionally bumpy roads with potholes. we drove past possibly more than 10 animal carcasses…one was a medium sized kangaroo…poor skippy.

Thanks to the great company on the road…plus we have stocked up with great musics, blasting the volume to max…keeping me awake behind the wheels

Praise God we didnt get quite lost throughout all the drives. Thanks to the map and of course, can’t do without a good navigator – Janice. =)

the beautiful breathtaking views just made my heart cried out with praises to God, the Almighty One who created all things so beautifully and delicately.

highlights including bright yellow canola flower fields, interesting Mammal fossil in the Naracoorte cave, and of course the amazingly Blue Lake in Mt Gambier.

It was such a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Janice & i decided to go Bunnings Warehouse to get our gear for the 2nd table project! It was so exciting! So many people at Bunnings Warehouse. Perfect day to shop for some hardware etc… Janice bought a pot of parsley & i bought a pot of flower for just $2.

Hope they survive =P

Last month, we drove around areas in N.Adelaide for reusable old furniture that people had thrown out for hard rubbish collection and we spotted this table at the roadside. It was still in a perfect condition.

So this afternoon, we gave it a good wash-down and scrub before we started spraying white paint onto it. One can of spray was just sufficient to cover the whole table.

Wearing personal safety equipment like face masks & gloves is important too. =P

After splashing pink & yellow paint onto the clean white surface, we decided to use the remaining paint to paint one of the 3 old plastic chairs which we had found too during our ‘hunt for treasure’ in August.

it was an impulsive act of art. But we were both happy with the result. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves…thou we made a mess in our garage…splashing paint all over the place. =D

It was so much fun at our backyard. =P

mission almost accomplished.

we left the paint to dry. will finish with a coat of glaze. =)

Hey hey it’s a beautiful day the Lord has made…Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.

It was such a beautiful sunny Saturday morning for a cycle to a friend’s house for a meeting. Actually at first thought of going there by foot, but i left house late, so thought of going to check out if any bike was available for rent. Thank God there were a few there at the Backpackers. The bike was a bit dodgy but Thank God i reached there safely as the traffic was less busy and i managed not to fall. Phew! Almost lost my scarf along the way…thankfully i managed to look back and realized it had fallen onto the side of the road.

Was blessed with Jez’s homemade yummilicious apple/banana choc chips pastry. Also, had a big bowl of Special Authentic Vietnamese beef noodle soup for lunch. It was so good! I reckon it’s the best beef noodle soup i’ve ever tasted. =)

Then, met up with my housemates in Rundle Mall. walked through some of the department stores & also Spotlight for some fabrics to sew.

On our way back, we made a detour to the lovely Rymill Park. I was excited to have fun on the swing again! Like when i was a child…used to play a lot in playgrounds: the slides, the see-saw, and my favourite – the Swing. =P
