Give Thanks

Thank You, Lord for a wonderful day.

Today’s OCF National Prayer & Missions Month Scripture reading:

Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Thankful for…

the rain

the clouds, the blue sky

the sunshine after rain

Mel found a job! Today! Employed! PTL!

Just got home from a Praise and Worship night at AACC. Heart filled with joy and gratitude.

i was reminded of how easily we take things for granted…it was a refreshing time spent in the presence of God.

An evening of singing praises and worshipping God in the midst of the brothers and sisters in Christ, praying together and waiting upon the Lord. Thank You, Lord for the beautiful melodies and lyrics…and hearts that yearned for You alone.

Thank You, Lord for Your Goodness and Love that endures forever.

GIVE THANKS
WITH A GRATEFUL HEART

AND NOW LET THE WEAK SAY
I AM STRONG

THE LORD HAS DONE
FOR US

GIVE THANKS…

Jesus, Beautiful Saviour,
God of all Majesty,
Risen king,
Lamb of God,
Holy and righteous,
Blessed redeemer,
Bright morning star

All the heavens shout your praise,
All creation bow to worship You

How wonderful, how beautiful,
Name above every name, exalted high
How wonderful, how beautiful,
Jesus your name, name above every name, Jesus

I will sing forever, Jesus I love you, Jesus I love you.

a few highlights of the day:

Managed to get the materials for my sewing project! Gonna make a skirt. Thank God for helpful shop assistant at Spotlight…helping me out. Excited about this week’s class!

Interestingly, the 3 of us (housemates and i) all had Cherry Blossom sushi for lunch! but all at a different timing.

Just before we went to church, we drove around housing area at North Adelaide…hehe…hunting for treasures. Also, admiring the beautiful architecture of the houses/mansions…

It’s the season for City Council clean up/hard rubbish collection, and we were looking at the schedule on our fridge door…checking out the areas of collection and hoping we’ll find some reusable, still-in-good-condition furniture. This was inspired from an after-dinner-walk around our neighbourhood, which ended up with us carrying a piece of ‘treasure’ we found along the roadside. A coffee table in perfect condition.

Btw, latest update- we’ll almost-almost at completion. 90% done.

ok, so we drove around slowly, watching out for our ‘treasure’.

And we found a medium sized round table on one steel leg. Perfect for outdoor! It was in perfect condition, just a bit dusty and need a good scrub. Janice foresaw the completed piece of art that we can put on our project list! oh yea…

The funny thing was stopping the car at roadside and getting down to inspect the ‘treasure’ and then ‘thick-face-ly’ carry the table to our car, with many cars driving past and a few people standing at the bus-stop wondering what on earth we’re doing. We couldn’t help but giggle out loud…

also noticed panda models displayed in the various spots in Rundle mall…There is one at Gloria Jeans, Myer Foodcourt. One in Regency Arcade…amongst the Teddy Bears Shop’s teddies display.

This is so cool!

The Pandas are coming

Later this year, our very special guests, Wang Wang and Funi will arrive at Adelaide Zoo for a 10 year stay.

A cooperative agreement signed between the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Zoos SA, is aimed at securing the long term survival of the species by extending the captive insurance population of the Giant Panda which fits perfectly with the aim of Zoos SA.

PANDAS ON PARADE

Pandas will be everywhere in Adelaide and rural South Australia this year as part of Pandas on Parade, a fundraising event with a difference.

Larger than life sized Panda models will be popping up all over  the state as their corporate ‘keepers’ get them involved in all sorts of adventures and antics in what promises to be a fun time before Wang Wang and Funi, Australia’s Giant Pandas arrive later this year.

Panda models will appear in unexpected places such as supermarkets, AAMI Stadium, Adelaide’s Parklands, lawyers offices, 5 star hotels, race meetings, popular shopping precincts and major sporting events.  The Pandas On Parade Panda models are definitely planning a big welcome for Wang Wang and Funi when they arrive in Adelaide later in the year.
